by taking action now.
Seminar Content
This fast-paced, interactive workshop focuses on minimizing productivity
and turnover losses and gaining stronger commitment from employees.
Content of each seminar is targeted to the needs of the audience,
e.g. training for general managers, guidance for employees, resources
for HR staff. Content includes:
- Why elder care is a work place issue - the cost to
employers and to employees; Aging America “by the numbers;” the
changing social contract for work; the cost of non-action
- Preparing to address elder care and work issues - assessing
personal readiness, corporate culture, & leadership; a conceptual
framework for priority-setting among work/life needs
- Understanding the needs of working caregivers - the
four top needs of working caregivers; characteristics and how
they vary by ethnic groups; how elder care and child care differ;
long distance caregiving
- Personal response - 7-step process for manager/employee
interaction to prevent conflicts – and to address them effectively
when they occur; quantifying the payback.
- Organizational response - Ten low cost/no cost elder care
supports that every employer can implement now – how to do
it and where to turn for resources in the community.
